An Improved Five-Modulus Reverse Converter

چکیده

The useful feature of residue number system (RNS) to peform addition, subtraction and multiplication without carry-chain between residue digits, has made RNS suitble for using in special-purpose digital computing systems. The total efficiency of an RNS system depends on the performance of reverse converter as well as arithmetic unit. Due to this, many researches have been done on designing reverse converter which is the most complex part of an RNS system. In this paper, we introduce a new reverse converter for the fivemoduli set {2 , 2 -1, 2 +1, 2 +1, 2 -1} by improving an existing design of the reverse converter for this n n/2 n/2 n 2n 1 moduli set. The resulted converter has higher speed and lower hardware cost than the original reverse converter of the moduli set {2 , 2 -1, 2 +1, 2 +1, 2 -1}. n n/2 n/2 n 2n 1
